An opposition MP in Fiji says the government is failing to provide basic amenities to people throughout the country.
Aseri Radrodro's comments follow a number of water disruptions with burst mains around Labasa and issues throughout the Suva to Nausori corridor.
The Water Authority also warned Nadi residents that they could face further disruptions for months due to an algae problem at one of the treatment plants.
It's understood nearly 9,000 households and businesses are affected.
Mr Radrodro said he had been in contact with many concerned citizens.
"A young mother communicated that she was facing much problems with washing her newborn's clothes. Others have also communicated about poor drinking water, some have contracted skin diseases, have not washed their hands or hair for a period of three weeks or more," he said.
"So some of these concerned, they have now seen these 'luxuries' to be only a dream for them."
Mr Radrodro said the Water Authority had been allocated close to one billion Fiji dollars over the past three years so questions have to be raised over what has happened to the investment.
