Solomons WW2 memorial plaque recovered

The Solomon Islands police have recovered a plaque from the new Second World War memorial at Bloody Ridge.

They are searching for the suspect involved.

The plaque was installed during recent commemorations to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Guadalcanal.

It was discovered by a woman in the Lungga River area and handed in to Guadalcanal police on Tuesday.
