Samoa Immigration suspends employee as it probes illegal passport sales

Samoa's Immigration Office has suspended an immigration employee while they investigate the alleged sale of Samoan passports online.

David Nomereta Uaine confirmed he had been suspended when contacted by the Samoa Observer.

Last week, the Attorney General issued an order prohibiting David Uaine and another man, Fitu Goshe, from leaving the country while the investigation is in progress.
