A district court judge in Samoa issued a stern warning to them after they pleaded guilty to slapping a 14-year-old male student on the cheek for misbehaving.

Judge Alalatoa Rosella Viane Papalii has ordered for the trio to be jailed for two weeks if they fail to pay cost to the prosecution and the court on time.

The judge said she had let the defendants off the hook only because of the pertinent circumstances and factors alluded to their offences.

She told them not to think that this was a blanket excuse to allow them to continue to assault students.

The defendants - Semiperive Laga'aia, Johannes Uili, and Selesitina Talatonu - are first-time offenders.
