In a statement, the opposition leader says the telecommunication company's services do not reflect what she describes as an exorbitant amount of public funds paid to support various schemes Vodafone is running in Fiji.

Ro Teimumu cited e-ticketing as an example in which she says the company's sub-standard service has created havoc in the public transport system.

She says the people of Fiji are silent on the issue because bodies such as the Commerce, Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commissions are heavily controlled by the government.

Ro Teimumu says Vodafone Fiji Limited must learn to live up to its corporate, social and moral obligations especially in light of the public funds it is being paid.

Vodafone Fiji has been contacted for a response to the statement.
