A 34-year-old man has been jailed for 16 and a half years for the rape of a 16-year-old girl in Samoa.
Gasologa Matamua of Salelologa had committed the crimes at his home.
Meanwhile in the Supreme Court last Friday a teacher was sentenced to 13 years jail after he was found guilty of one count of rape and five counts of sexual connection with a girl under 16.
The 39-year-old defendant, Efeso Pati Masina, was teaching at a church primary school when the offences occurred.
This week the court will sentence a former church minister who had admitted charges of rape and incest.
