PNG declares 360,000 hectares of conservation land

The Papua New Guinea government has declared its biggest conversation area ever, in the Managalas Plateau.

The Minister for Environment, Conservation and Climate Change John Pundari and Northern Governor Gary Juffa made the announcement at Itokama village, in Northern Province.

The Post Courier reports it took 32 years of work for the conservation area to be officially declared.

There are 360,000 hectares of protected land in the conserved area.
