The New Zealand derby is scheduled for Suva on June 30.

Both the Chiefs and Crusaders have played in Fiji over the past two years, while the Blues played in Samoa last year.

The Highlanders CEO Roger Clark says the game is an opportunity to broaden the appeal of Super Rugby.

Mr Clark says they are aware of the large following Super Rugby enjoys in Fiji and are happy to showcase their style of game in the islands.

He says Fiji has produced many great players, including the Highlanders' Waisake Naholo.

Coach Aaron Mauger says the the team will embrace the opportunity as it's a different challenge but potentially an exciting one.
