An Adventist mission run Epauto Secondary School has gone a step further in confiscating mobile phones from students for a full term.

Any student wanting their phone back must pay a fine of $US45 or 5,000 vatu.

The Daily Post reported parents were also taking drastic steps to discourage their children from using mobile phones.

The Government is currently consulting over a cyber safety bill in parliament.
