Meteorologists in Fiji say a tropical disturbance near Vanuatu is expected to strengthen into a cyclone as it moves towards Fiji.

The disturbance -- TD13F -- is expected to develop into a depression and then a category one cyclone by Sunday.

Much of Fiji's west is already dealing with extensive flooding after Cyclone Josie passed near last weekend.

The Fiji Meteorological Service's Ravindra Kumar told the FBC the system would likely pass to the southwest on Sunday or Monday.
