Ten homes on Saipan still still have unrepaired damage Typhoon Soudelor which ravaged the island in 2015, according to the non-profit group tasked with spearheading the recovery in the Northern Marianas.
Commonwealth Advocates for Recovery Efforts, or CARE, which wraps up its mandate in June, reported it had assisted over 200 families with typhoon-related needs including 85 families receiving some form of labour assistance, and the others getting materials or goods.
Seventy-five of the 85 families received labour assistance from volunteer labour groups, CARE said.
Mennonite Disaster Services was responsible for 58 of those cases.
Since arriving on Saipan back in 2016, the North American volunteer network successfully repaired 58 homes and was about to finish its work in the CNMI, the report said.
