Pensioners in New Caledonia say they will again take to the streets of Noumea on Thursday in a bid to get their retirement payments increased.
Last year, hundreds of them rallied repeatedly wanting rebates to help defray costs.

Next week's rally wants to push the government to increase the pension payments of those who paid their contributions to the graded retirement scheme.
They say this is only fair because the minimum pension for those who never contributed to any scheme has been adjusted to match rising prices.
There are about 35,000 pensioners in the territory, with many saying they are struggling.
The minimum pension is $US900 a month.
