The Fiji Times reported an American based group called Fiji Wheelchairs has donated 110 wheelchairs to the Labasa Rotary Club every year for the past five years.

However the group's founder Chetan Singh said despite those who have used the donated wheelchairs promising to return them, this had not happened, with many disappearing from circulation.

He said wheelchairs given to health facilities in Savusavu and Labasa had also gone missing and he appealed to those who were no longer using the mobility devices to return them, so others in need could become more mobile.

Mr Singh said anyone who needed a wheelchair to get around could apply to the Labasa Rotary Club.
