The Papua New Guinea Hunters beat the Northern Pride 18-8 in Port Moresby to stay within reach of the playoff spots in the Intrust Super Cup.

The defending champions, who bounced back from a home defeat by Redcliffe last week, climbed one place to tenth in the overall standings, two points behind the sixth placed Souths Logan Magpies, but with a much inferior points differential.

There are six games to play in the regular season with the Hunters hosting the fourth-placed Norths Devils in Lae on Sunday.
