The draft strategy was drawn up after talanoa, or open dialogue with arts practitioners at Wellington's Te Papa Museum in March.

Pacific Arts working group member Luamanuvao Dame Winnie Laban said the strategy sets out a vision for Pacific arts in New Zealand over the next five years.

She said it also describes key priorities to grow and support Pacific Arts.

"This is the first time that we have launched a Creative New Zealand strategy and what is important to me is that artists can feel that they have a voice and feel they have been involved in terms of consultations every part of the way and be measured on deliverables of the strategy after the launch in September."

Feedback is required by next Monday, August 13.
