Guam's Department of Public Health and Social Services said those in need will get an additional 60 percent top up of their benefits for this month to help replace food spoilt during the cyclone's electricity blackouts.

The food stamp benefits are valued at US$4.8 million and the needs were assessed by the US Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service.

Meanwhile the Federal Emergency Management Agency is recommending people take photographs to document proof of cyclone damage saying residents shouldn't wait for the government's preliminary assessment before clearing typhoon debris and starting repairs.
