New Zealand has delivered emergency supplies to Tokelau to assist with disaster preparation.

Civil Defence Minister Kris Faafoi arrived this morning in Fakaofo in the first leg of his visit to all three atolls.

Supplies include 90,000 chlorine tablets, 150 shelter kits, more than 700 solar lanterns and more than 1000 mosquito nets.

The commitment is part of New Zealand's Pacific Reset policy and is a collaboration between Civil Defence and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The gear has been delivered in 3 shipping containers which will be placed on Fakaofo, Atafu and Nukunonu.

A further announcement of New Zealand support to Tokelau will be made tomorrow.
