Call in Fiji to help prevent spread of dengue

Fiji's Ministry of Health and Medical Services is urging Fijians to help prevent the spread of dengue fever by destroying potential mosquito breeding sites.

It said they need to dispose of any stagnant water sources in and around homes and workplaces.

Members of the public are also being called on to use repellents and place mosquito nets and screens on windows and doors.

Recent surveys showed high levels of mosquitoes in Suva, Lami and Nausori last month.
