The Papua New Guinea Police Commissioner, Gari Baki, has dismisssed social media claims about two naturalized citizens holding senior ranks in the police.

Mr Baki said a post on Facebook, questioning the employment of Superintendent Dennis Corcoran and Superintendent Qi Ming Aixinjueluo, is both malicious and derogatory.

Mr Corcoran was Australian but born in PNG and his father was a long time senior PNG police commander.

Mr Ming, whose heritage is Chinese, was also born and raised in PNG.

Mr Baki said both men have been employed for key roles in the police force and the malicious posts won't deter them from performing their constitutional duties.
