Observers happy with Fiji vote

International observers monitoring the Fiji election say they are confident Fijian voters were able to exercise their right to vote freely.

Seventy-seven observers have been in Fiji watching the elections process and have issued an interim statement.

The group noted some issues but said the process to date had been transparent and credible.

About one percent of voters are still to vote tomorrow after rain suspended some polling on Wednesday.
