Charges against three teenagers in New Caledonia are expected to be changed because the 80-year-old woman injured during their break-in has died.

She died after a week in a serious condition in hospital.
The three reportedly tried to steal lychees from her garden but then entered her home where they unsuccessfully tried to take a safe.
The attempted theft charges are expected to be amended in view of the woman's death.
Two of the teenagers, who are below the age of 16, have been in state care since last week while the third one has been detained.
More than half of burglaries in New Caledonia are committed by minors.
