Civil engineer Jeremiah Malaki Tauili'ili was involved in an incident outside an Apia nightclub early on Saturday morning and died in hospital on Wednesday.

Police said no arrests had been made but investigations were continuing.

They said there had been a lot of speculation on social media and warned people not to take the law into their own hands.

Threats or damage to property were criminal offences, police said.
