A total of $US6.9 million in food stamps were issued to 11,209 households on Saipan and Tinian in the aftermath of Typhoon Yutu.

The super typhoon hit the islands in late October.
The food stamps, known as Disaster-Nutrition Assistance Program coupon benefits, are meant for the purchase of food.
They are due to stop at the end of next month.
The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, which administers the food program, said anyone who might have received less than the maximum assistance is being encouraged to report this immediately.
The department was responding to reports of some disaster food stamp recipients getting less than they are due.
