They are Agnes Armstrong, Teariki Heather, Daryl Rairi and Jason Teremoana.

Ivirua is one of the smallest electorates in the Cook Islands with less than 90 votes cast in the general elections last year.

The results are expected to be announced by the Chief Electoral Officer this afternoon.

Mangaia has a population of about 500 people and is the second largest island in the Cook Islands group.

The by-election was triggered by the death of Democratic Party MP, Tony Armstrong, in November.
