Marshalls vow to strengthen ties with Taiwan

The Marshall Islands has pledged to further promote bilateral ties with Taiwan.

The island nation's new ambassador to Taiwan, Neijon Rema Edwards, arrived in Taipei last week and met Foreign Minister Joseph Wu.

Mr Wu said Ms Edwards will help strengthen relations and he hopes the Marshall Islands will continue to support Taiwan's bids for meaningful participation in international organisations.

Ms Edwards said she looks forward to helping consolidate bilateral ties and promoting co-operation and exchanges.
