Task force officers arrested a Chinese national last week for alleged illegal possession of a controlled substance and drug trafficking.

At the scene, task force officers seized 42 grams of the drug known as "ice" with a street value of about $US29,000.

That same day two other Chinese nationals were arrested on Saipan for alleged possession and trafficking of methamphetamine.

The task force seized close to $US9,000 worth of "ice" in their possession.

A 36-year-old Chinese national was sentenced to 15 years in prison yesterday for distributing 100 grams of "ice" - worth between $US40,000 and $US50,000 - in May 2017.
