Political leaders and police in Bougainville have made a number of resolutions to ease tensions in the autonomous Papua New Guinea region.

They met yesterday after two people were killed and 34 houses on Sohano Island were torched at the weekend.
New Dawn FM reported the resolutions include government assistance with funeral costs for those who died.
They also call for the establishment of a Peace and Good Order Committee to provide additional police manpower.
There will also be more funds to recruit and train officers for the Bougainville Police Service.
The meeting was told liquor and substance abuse was the main problem and it has called on the Liquor Licensing Office and police to fully enforce liquor laws.
The leaders also agreed settlers who have moved to Buka but don't have work need to be repatriated.
