Extra police in PNG capital for parliament sitting

About 1,000 police officers will be in Papua New Guinea's capital next week for the return of Parliament.

The oppositon is planning to file a motion of no confidence in the Prime Minister, Peter O'Neill.

In the past three weeks, several senior MPs have defected from Mr O'Neill's governing coalition.

The police commissioner, Gary Baki, told the Post Courier reinforcements will be added to help secure Port Moresby during parliament's sitting.
