Queries over NZ's multi-million dollar Solomons airport

From , 3:04 pm on 17 August 2016

Questions are being raised about New Zealand spending millions of dollars on an airport development in Solomon Islands when the airport will still not be fully usable.

New Zealand aid has allocated more than $US22 million dollars for infrastructure projects in Solomons' Western Province.

While the country's tourism hub is home to world class diving and beautiful lagoon resorts it is certainly not the most accessible of Pacific destinations.

The New Zealand aid programme aims to help change this but the key airport development will still be incomplete and only useful in emergencies.
