A Samoan-Welsh New Zealander has become an unlikely and accidental voice for Pacific climate change awareness.
James Nokise is an award winning stand up comedian, actor and playwright who performs around New Zealand, Australia, the US and the UK.
His latest one man show "RUKAHU: In Search of the Pacific" has just finished its Wellington season.
The play is a satirical look at cultural perceptions in New Zealand and is the fictional story of a senior Pacific Island performer who has convinced Creative New Zealand to grant him $75,000 for his new project.
Dominic Godfrey caught up with James Nokise.
