Village bylaws in Fiji are reviewed over human rights concerns

An academic in Fiji says a balance needs to be found between traditional and modern life when reviewing village bylaws.

Non-government organisations and civil societies in Fiji have been meeting to discuss village bylaws which could infringe human rights.

The Director of Development Studies from the University of the South Pacific Vijay Naidu has been a facilitator at some of the discussions.

He told Koro Vaka'uta what they were looking at.
