PNG women get crash course in parliament

From , 6:03 am on 9 March 2017

A week-long programme training a selection of female candidates for Papua New Guinea's elections in parliamentary proceedings is underway in Port Moresby.

The programme is supported by the United Nations Development Programme which says that with only three female MPs out of 111 in PNG's current parliament, women are vastly under-represented.

Dulciana Somare-Brash is one of fifty candidates selected for the training.

Johnny Blades asked her how the programme was going.
