Public school teachers in Hawaii get hefty pay increase

From , 5:02 am on 2 May 2017

Public school teachers in Hawaii last week voted in favour of a contract that will give them a significant pay hike.

After nine months of negotiating, the new contract is worth over $100 million and valid for the next four years.

The legislature needed to have the vote completed by the end of April in order to be included in this year's budget.
