Manus detainees get huge payout from Australia

The Australian government will pay $AU70 million compensation to 1905 men it detained on Papua New Guinea's Manus Island between 2012 and 2016.

An out of court settlement was reached today in a class action brought by the men, who arrived in Australia by boat seeking asylum.
