Unrest and farce as PNG election draws to a close

Unrest and farce are the order of the day as Papua New Guinea's troubled national election draws to a close.

Today is the deadline for the return of writs, although results in dozens of seats are yet to be declared, due to many disruptions to the vote counting process across PNG.

Johnny Blades reports that the political landscape is explosive ahead of next week's scheduled sitting of a new parliament when election of a prime minister will take place.
