Landowners in Solomon Islands' Temotu province are trying to raise funds to challenge the prospecting rights of miner Pacific Bauxite in court.
The Australian company's presence in Temotu is supported by the provincial government but has met with growing opposition from the resource owning communities in West-Nende.
Ruddy Oti is a local landowner and mining advisor for the local Temotu Conservation and Sustainable Development Association.
He spoke with Koroi Hawkins about his latest trip back to Temotu a fortnight ago to raise awareness and support for a legal challenge against Pacific Bauxite.
