Papua New Guinea Leadership Tribunals will no longer have to follow strict rules of evidence when determining the truth of allegations against elected representatives and department heads.
A Supreme Court decision on the matter follows action by PNG's Ombudsman Commission almost a year ago.
A five judge-bench ruled that the rules on evidence were unconstitutional.
The Commission's Richard Pagen told Johnny Blades that the matter of when a leader referred to a leadership tribunal should be suspended from office remains an obstacle to probes into their conduct.
