Last week after some delay the final members of Tonga's cabinet were sworn.

Ten ministers have been tasked with leading the nation through the next four years, including an unelected appointee.

Businessmen Tu'i Uata was sworn in as Commerce Minister after being selected by Prime Minister 'Akilisi Pohiva.

Constitutionally, Prime Ministers have the ability to bring in up to four ministers from outside parliament.

There is also a new Deputy Prime Minister and a belated portfolio swap.

Massey University Pasifika Director Malakai Koloamatangi said although there are a few interesting changes, Mr Pohiva has stayed loyal to his last administration.
