Nutrition education badly needed in Pacific

From , 4:04 pm on 7 February 2018

A volunteer doctor working in remote parts of the Pacific says education about good nutrition is badly needed.

Derek Allen has travelled to remote and needy parts of the world offering health care for the past 30 years.

At the moment he's spending two months at a six bed hospital in Lamap on the Vanuatu island of Malekula.

Dr Allen told Sally Round he's filling a gap as the province has been unable to find doctors who want to work in the country's remoter areas.
