A food and health standards training course in New Zealand has highlighted the absence of food safety verifiers in Tonga.
Technical officer at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forests, Pelenitina Vao attended the two week training programme in Christchurch.
Ms Vao spoke with Sela Jane Hopgood about how the scholarship has given her the skills to contribute to the development of food safety practices in Tonga.
