Two students from Tuvalu have won scholarships from the Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation Project focused on building coastal resilience in three of Tuvalu's nine inhabited islands.

With finance from the Green Climate Fund, 19-year-old Tanu Sumeo says she's interested in learning about geospatial technology.

She's still waiting for a place in an Australian University while 18-year-old Palaku Vaolilo Sakaio will study civil engineering at New Zealand's Canterbury University.

The Manager of the Funafuti based project, Moeo Finauga, spoke to Jenny Meyer about the scholarship programme.
