Emmanuel Macron makes first visit to New Caledonia

The French president Emmanuel Macron is in New Caledonia on his first visit to the territory.

This comes six months before the territory's vote on independence from France, 20 years since the signing of the Noumea Accord and 30 years after the Ouvea hostage crisis.

Walter Zweifel has been following events and Johnny Blades asked him what Mr Macron has been saying.
