Guam starts to recover from Typhoon

Guam government departments and the naval base are expected to open today as the island recovers from the impact of Typhoon Mangkhut which passed between its north and the southern CNMI island of Rota on Monday night.

The Governor's office says Guam was lucky to dodge the direct hit forcast and is now starting to recover with power slowly being restored and less than a thousand people spending a second night in shelters.

Jenny Meyer spoke with the Governor's Director of Communications, Oyaol Ngirairikl, about the typhoon's impact.
