A charity is hoping to bring down Fiji's high rates of violence against women by building new shelters, offering counselling programmes and helping with law reform.
The women's volunteer group, Soroptomist International, is hoping to build up to seven sanctuaries for women and children in Fiji as part of a holistic plan to tackle abuse.
The President of the charity's South West Pacific arm, Anusha Santhirasthipam, told Sally Round it would also shelter them when during cyclones and other crises when they are particularly vulnerable.
