Hawaii forum to address racism against Micronesians

From , 4:03 pm on 11 October 2018

The Micronesian community in Hawaii has an opportunity next week to highlight some of the barriers they face as immigrants in the state.

The US Commission on Civil Rights and representatives of the federal and state government will hear from members of Hawaii's Micronesian community about issues such as discrimination and a lack of equal opportunities.

Mary Therese Perez Hattori is a university academic in Honolulu, originally from Guam, and she told Moera Tuilaepa-Taylor she's hoping to talk at the forum.
