Monitoring how life jackets respond to the Pacific environment is the central focus of a New Zealand-led maritime safety programme underway in Niue this week.
New Zealand's Pacific Maritime Safety Programme has been holding safety workshops for local small boat fishing crews who are urged to bring their life jackets in for servicing during the programme.
Programme manager David Billington spoke to Tim Glasgow about the focus on life jackets.
