PNG Govt faking size of the economy - economist

An economist says Papua New Guinea's economic statistics have been deliberately corrupted to paint a more positive picture of the economy.

PNG Economics principal Paul Flanagan says the Peter O'Neill/Charles Abel government has faked the figures so they can claim the economy is nearly 20 percent bigger than it really is.

Mr Flanagan told Don Wiseman this is an extraordinary gap and it is putting PNG on a very dangerous path.
