Pacific investing heavily in renewable energy - ADB

As Pacific countries try to push down electricity costs and improve supply to remote communities, the Asian Development Bank is reporting large requests for renewable energy funding.

A heavy reliance on diesel for electricity generation, geography and economies of scale are some of the factors that make electricity costs in the Pacific some of the highest in the world.

The bank's principal energy specialist for the Pacific, Anthony Maxwell spoke with Koroi Hawkins about the region's energy needs.
