Desperate shortage of prosthetic limbs in Solomon Islands

From , 3:02 pm on 18 April 2019

An Australian NGO working in Solomon Islands says there's a desperate shortage of artificial limbs after the country's only prosthetics workshop shut down.

Motivation Australia estimates there are hundreds of prosthetics needed to address a diabetes crisis but no way to make them locally.

Its chief executive Kylie Mines spoke to Mackenzie Smith, who began by asking how bad the situation is.
