A Wellington software company has scoured a major coup by being selected to run the Democratic National Convention website in the lead-up to the US elections. Silver Stripe, based in Courtney Place says the job is the biggest commercial break it has experienced in its short history. Millions of people will turn to the site from now until August to watch the battle between Democratic contenders Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

Shopping online has grown in popularity in New Zealand to the point where for every $3 spent in a conventional store, $1 is spent online. But a report by Consumer New Zealand has highlighted the snags of internet shopping and the perils that await unwary consumers when they and their credit cards venture online.
